15 sloping acres, half woodland, half setaside. Rewilded since purchase in 1999.

An hour north of Toulouse, in the under-reported Tarn et Garonne, and in the sparcely populated (≤17 per sq km) Coteaux de Lomagne, where they grow garlic. Now fibre connected, but very little public transport.

The woodland (some of it primary) is neither harvested nor cleared. Deep leaf litter is accessible in some parts. Resident red squirrels. And hornets.

An old Massey Ferguson with a topper maintains about 3km of tracks around and through the fields. Some are changed from one year to the next, giving a mosaic of vegetation of different heights and ages.

Bramble corridors (≥2m high) reinforce fence limits, retain soil on steep slopes, protect young trees, shelter nesting birds and wild boar. Their 6 week flowering season enjoyed by the bees etc.
